Abstract

Since the most remote times, stars have constituted both a refuge and a reference for human beings. But it is only in the last century, since the development of Astrophysics, that scientists came to understand what makes the stars shine, solving at the same time the mystery of the origin of the chemical species in the Universe. We now know that stars are far more important to us that what could be imagined by ancient civilizations.
