El sistema V2 parcial del Portugués Clásico

En este trabajo investigamos la naturaleza del fenómeno V2 parcial del portugués clásico. Esta fase lingüística posibilita construcciones de inversión del sujeto que sugieren que hubo movimiento del verbo para el sistema CP, como en lenguas V2. Sin embargo, a diferencia de una gramática V2 estándar, el portugués clásico también permite que el verbo finito no aparezca obligatoriamente en segunda posición lineal. Aquí, con base en la propuesta cartográfica de Rizzi (1997) para la periferia de la sentencia, presentamos evidencias de que el portugués clásico instancia movimiento del verbo para Fin0, el mismo núcleo a donde se alza el verbo en lenguas V2 prototípicas (HAEGEMAN, 1996; MOHR, 2004; ROBERTS, 2004). Demostramos que la diferencia sustancial entre el portugués clásico y una lengua V2 se reduce a la presencia o no de un rasgo EPP en el núcleo Fin0: los sistemas V2 presentarían este rasgo, mientras que el portugués clásico carecería de dicha propriedad.
