Democracy in the digital age: issues surrounding disobedient automatons

Abstract

: In this essay, we present nodal questions about democracy and subjects in a digital age. Aiming more to encourage the questions with provocations than to answer them immediately, we start from four movements: initially, we outline some central characteristics of today's epistemic. Then we focused on the problem of living together in times of technology, succeeding this reflection with an analysis of the democratic risks of this context. Finally, after delimiting the place of philosophical exercise in an apparently inhospitable space for it, we unveil some considerations about the challenges of disobedient thinking in contemporary democracies. From beginning to end, the reflections are crossed by images from the videodance Autômata (2020), from which the argumentation is enriched.
