This study aims to analyze syntactic neologisms found on the social media platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, focusing on linguistic structures created in contexts of political polarization. The theoretical framework is based on the works of Alves (2004, 2007), Biderman (2001), Sablayrolles (2019), among others. Our corpus comprises politically themed posts published on these platforms between 2018 and 2021. According to the findings, we identified twenty examples of syntactic neologisms, formed through processes such as prefixal derivation, creation of new prefixes, nominal and verbal suffixation (including pejorative forms), parasynthetic derivation, juxtaposition, and acronym formation. These innovations reflect speakers’ creative use of linguistic resources to produce jocular, satirical, or derogatory effects, actively contributing to the reinforcement or contestation of hegemonic narratives. As such, they mirror contemporary sociopolitical events and serve as tools for ideological positioning, social criticism, and the negotiation of meaning in digital discourse.
