Abstract

This study aims to analyse, in a contrastive way, the prosodic variation in different accentual structures in the subject nominal syntagma of two types of sentences – the interrogative and the declarative one – in the varieties of the European Portuguese (EP) and the Galician (Gal.). The selected regions to the collections of the corpus were two urban areas, one in northern Portugal (Braga) and another in southern Galicia (Cangas). We analyzed two informants' productions, women with basic schooling and both over 50. The design of the corpus, the collection and the analysis methodology follow the guidelines of AMPER project - Atlas Multimedia Prosódico do Espaço Românico - (CONTINI et al. 2003), namely: unread corpus, F0 values extraction, duration and energy of the produced vowels, by using specially designed software for AMPER project, in a MatLab environment (ROMANO, 1995 and 1999) and Praat (RILLIARD, 2007).
