Abstract

This paper reflects on the consideration of the prosodic materiality in the archive’s constitution. We have presupposed that prosodic materiality, as well as words, expressions and propositions, can work as can work as discourse materializations, and consequently as materializations of an ideology. It is through the link among prosody, archive and affective-discursive memory that we can observe an irruption in space of the discursive repetition in Discourse Analysis, the theoretical base for this discussion. We can take as an example an enunciation event involving Fire Service corporal in June 2011, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who chanted the corporate anthem in a manner unpredicted by the ritual of which they were part. With that, we have reached the conclusion that the phonetic-phonological materiality for the constitution of the archive is indeed important, since it might be seen as a drift point, allowing the development of more than one interpretation of the same fact.
