This article discusses the use of artificial intelligence, specifically ChatGPT, in the journalistic routine of Brazilian media outlets, based on the experience of three reporters. To do so, a brief theoretical overview is provided on the concepts of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing. Through a questionnaire consisting of 13 questions, our objective is to analyze the experiences that are being carried out with ChatGPT in newsrooms, from motivations to advantages and disadvantages, as well as precautions and projections regarding the tool's utilization in journalism. Further investigation is warranted as the use of artificial intelligence tools becomes more popularized and institutionalized in journalism.
