Abstract

This study is a reflection about the transformations of the autonomy in the mediatic-journalistic field, via mutations in the newsworthiness process, which is originated from the society’s mediatization effects and its social practices. The analysis focus is the self-referentiality through which the journalistic enunciation indicates the nature and the specificity of its place and of the effects of its operations on the conditions of its legitimacy construction. Revista Imprensa (Press Magazine) is taken as a case study, through the 'interview' section, whose self-referentiality strategies become evident by the publication existence itself and by the transformation of interviews' objects – the journalists – in 'celebrity subjects'. These operations of referentiality aim to consecrate journalism as a social and meaningful practice.
