Abstract

The article discusses the configuration that agents are involved in publicizing the issue of immigration in France. The article also intends to characterize the routine selection of information by the regional newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré, which occupies a privileged position in relation to other medias of the Rhône Alpes region. Through a regional newspaper content analysis from a case of “urban violence”, occurred in 2010 in the city of Grenoble, we discuss the relationship of local journalists with local institutional agents. The article concerns the territorial work of the media. We start from the hypothesis that the local production of information on immigration reveals strategies, habits and professional standard that seek to affirm the relationship of local media with the territories where they work.
