The objective of this research is to investigate how a report of the Sports Spectacular program shows the intimacy of Neymar football player and the receipt by university students. There was use of the technique of focus groups and analytical-descriptive method for collecting and analyzing data. The sample consisted of 24 university students, aged between 18 and 24 years. Images of friends and family of the player and testimonials from people nearby aimed at attracting the public and cause an identification with the protagonist of the show. The participants considered that part of society contemplates the life of their idols, forgetting of their own. The media shows portions of everyday life causing a reaction in the receiver, which also influences the media. So there is no handler or manipulated, but interests, actions and provisions.
