Abstract

This article rescues the critical-emancipatory tradition of Adelmo Genro Filho journalism theory, reflecting on his relationship with the aesthetics of György Lukács, proposing in this joint, the construction of a realistic news praxis. In this sense, we highlight the main aspects of realism in Lukacs, extending this concept to the research of journalism fundamentals. Through this realistic approach to the news, journalism gains a much needed role in times of crisis, it becomes a form of knowledge able to dissipate pseudoconcreticity, reaching the hidden essence of the fetishization and commodification of material life.
