Abstract

The characteristic of political journalism, structured in the conflict, leads to believe that the struggle of forces occurs at all the time and in all the instances. This process involves a complex network of interests that give the news relevant political weight. This paper discusses the political news coverage in print publications from the perspective of frameworks studies (GAMSON; MODIGLIANI, 1989; GAMSON; LASCH, 1980; VIMIEIRO; MAIA, 2011) and Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2011). The text is a part that shows the results of the master’s thesis “News frameworks of Sartori’s Government: the selection of sources in the newspaper Zero Hora”. The aspects of reality highlighted by the frames compose 17 main packages that synthesizes the frameworks of 2015 in a polarized way, with predominance of contestation frames versus reinforcement frames of the government. Regarding the sources, the data demonstrates the dichotomy between the government and the civil servants, indicating that the main political dispute in the State that year was between the public administration and their functionaries.
