Abstract

Researchers point that the insertion of news events in a context which gives them meaning in journalistic texts is a specific task of the journalists’ work. Such attribution is also mentioned by many authors as one of the differentials that would still justify the existence of this specialized professional – the journalist – in media organizations, in a time of structural changes in which the information flows intensively in non-traditionally journalistic places. However, it is possible to notice a lack of works that deepen theoretically such relation between journalism and context/contextualization. The article presents a revision of some theories that approach the subject, as well as proposes a deepening of studies in this perspective, with support in the theory of complexity.
