Abstract

Much more dynamic, connected and willing to comment and collaborate, the audiences of the mainstream media are getting to the newsrooms with varied content that impacts at different stages of the news production through interactive processes mediated by mobile devices. The objective of this work, developed from a participant observation in Diário Gaúcho, a popular newspaper based in Porto Alegre (RS), was to evaluate this public interference in productive routines, in pre-defined stages such as agenda, apuration and dissemination. The qualitative analysis was focused on the messages exchanged during five days between the newspaper and the public via WhatsApp application, a tool that shows potential in the establishment of dialogic environments between vehicles and their readers. As result, it can be anticipated that most of the content generated from the media-audience relationship through WhatsApp resulted in agenda, but that reader interference and dialogues established at other stages of the process also showed potential to qualify the content delivered to the reader.
