The assumption in this paper is that the journalistic criticism which is done by the audience, based on their understanding on what journalism is and what should be, indicates questions and tensions that must be observed analytically. The purpose of this study is to present a sample of interactions based on an episode of the Bem Estar program that became a meme in social networks, to compare them to the academic criticism. This exercise is important to discuss congruences and differences between critics who are occupying different places. This often results in shared expectations about what journalism offers, its characters, genres and modes of production.
