Perceptions about Violence in the Daily Life of Youths
Abstract
http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/1414-49802016.00100004This article discusses the experience of youths in contexts of urban violence. It is based on a theoretical study of violence and youth, and an empiric study conducted in 2014 with youths who live in a favela in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. The statements collected in the field exemplify the perceptions of these youths about violence, above all after the implementation of the Police Pacification Units in the region of the state capital.
