Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the meanings created by the incorporation of pre-established characters in the discourses on the concept of national these discourses concern the process of naturalization the rock music in Brazil, a process which interpreted as a means to occur, as well as to question the classifying system of the Brazilian music. Therefore, this paper analysis the way in which Brazilian rock music — specially from Raul Seixas’s singularity — establishes a dialogue with the aspects which constitute Brazilian culture and national identity present on MPB (Brazilian Popular Music). This dialogue relativizes the dichotomy within Brazilian popular music — revealing its contradictions.Downloads
