Interview with Minas Gerais writer Filipe Lutalo, author of Almoço de domingo (Sunday Lunch). This prose work, featuring paratexts by social historian Josemeire Alves and writer Cidinha da Silva, presents narratives in which the unifying element is human relationships. These stories foreground everyday experiences and the sharing of affections. Composed with the skill of a master prose stylist and a profound poetic quality — hallmarks of the potency of Afro-Brazilian literary production — these narratives render daily life, often through intergenerational interactions, to reveal the emergence of memories in the process of construction and the connections that make them possible. This conversation engaged with the author’s understandings of literature, his approaches to literary creation, and his writing projects.References
