Doutor em Sociologia pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), professor da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), atuando em seu Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia Política, pesquisador do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq).
