National Policies for ducational Inclusion – critical discussion of Resolution no 02/2001

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss aspects of the current national Education Policy, focusing on educational service to the Special Education population. The central issue of the analysis is Resolution number 02 of the Basic Education Committee of the National Education Council. We believe that aspects of the Special Education Guidelines for Elementary Education indicate a need for procedures – enacted by schools and government - that are cautious not to promote the continued exclusion of children. Exclusion is still found in education in Brazil.

Graduação em Pedagogia pela UNICAMP (1983), especialização em Espec. para Professores de Deficientes Mentais pela UNICAMP (1986) , mestrado em Educação pela UFMS (1993), doutorado em Educação pela UNICAMP (1999) e pos-doutorado pela UAH (2005).
