This article aims to critically evaluate two objects produced by the cultural industry – the star and the diva – with regard to their centrality in the mass culture and in the mass media. The concepts, drawn from both categories, open discussions about the consumption of culture in art and literature, as well as enable a promising analyis on the dynamics of the objects in a consumption society.Downloads
