Cyborg Youth and Gender-Border Transgression

Abstract

People and machines are increasingly connected, by an intensely symbiotic process. Youth are especially affected by this procedure, developing a cyborg subjectivity. This article analyses the cyborging process in the interface between the school curriculum and the Orkut curriculum. The research that subsidizes this article investigated the interface between the public high school curriculum, and the communities and profiles of students from this school in Orkut. The theoretical basis is constituted by gender and curriculum studies, and the perspective is post-critical. The argument developed is that the strategies used in one curriculum can be translated into the other by the interface between them, resulting both in the transgression and the strengthening of gender borders.

Shirlei Rezende Sales, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Professora adjunta do Departamento de Administração Escolar da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), é doutora pela mesma instituição, vinculada à linha de pesquisa educação escolar: instituições, sujeitos e currículos. É membro do Observatório da Juventude e do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Currículos e Culturas (GECC) da FAE/UFMG. Tem experiência na área de educação, com ênfase em teoria geral de planejamento e desenvolvimento curricular, atuando principalmente nas seguintes temáticas: currículo, práticas culturais, juventude, política educacional, projeto político pedagógico e coordenação pedagógica.

Marlucy Alves Paraíso, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

É professora do Departamento de Administração Escolar da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade
Federal de Minas Gerais (FAE/UFMG) desde 1995 e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da mesma instituição desde 2003. É pesquisadora do CNPq e fundadora e coordenadora do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Currículos e Culturas (GECC) da FAE/UFMG. É professora colaboradora do mestrado em Currículo da Universidade Salesiana de Quito, Equador. Tem trabalhado uma vez por ano como professora visitante na Universidade de Valencia, Espanha. Participa do GT “Currículo” da ANPEd desde 1992. Possui pósdoutorado em Educação pela Faculdad de Filosofia y Ciências de la Educación de la
Uiversidad de Valência, Espanha (2009); doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 2002); mestrado em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 1995) e graduação em Pedagogia pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV, 1992). Todos os seus trabalhos de ensino, pesquisa, extensão e orientação têm como foco os currículos escolares e não escolares.
