Abstract

The study aims to present some reflections on lower classes women, their actions and tactics of the different forms of violence experienced in daily life on the second district of Sao Leopoldo city (RS). For this purpose, we work with the police incidents recorded in the Grievance’s Book between the period 1919 to 1924. From complaints we consider rethink women’s role and their practices in a society surrounded by tensions and conflicts linked to gender relations. The police reports as a source contribute significantly to think through the complex history of Vale do Sinos region, and more specifically on women and their action this study.
