The textile arts in the contemporary scenario allied with electronic programming, configuring themselves as e-textiles or smart textiles. The woven structures were modernized with the help of cybernetics, in which stimuli on the textile surface produce electronically predictable reactions. This work seeks to deal with two artistic installations that make use of intelligent textiles and are considered as intermediatic, as categorized by Irina Rajewsky (2012). These e-textiles inhabit the threshold of complex classifications of works of art because they refer to various media modalities (ELLESTRÖM, 2017), such as sensory, material, and semiotic modes. From this perspective, we will analyze the works Text in Textiles by Anna Biro and E-static Shadows by Zane Berzina and Jackson Tan, whose mixed composition of electronic devices and fabrics mobilizes interactivity in its haptic and acoustic aspects.
