This paper investigates how locative media strategies in children's books can promote spatial knowledge. Locative media relates information to space, which is considered one of the central elements of the narrative. Narratives are used to condense and remember experiences and are fundamental to our understanding of time and time-based events. The use of locative resources in children's books can create new narratives for space, which are rearranged to support the meaning of the story being told, expanding the reader's interactions and senses. Through a theoretical review and a description of the creation process of locative digital books, developed by undergraduate students in 2023, this study identifies the narrative elements of space and spatial elements in the narrative. It also discusses how they can be used to enhance spatial knowledge and comprehension of the narrative. As a result, this paper proposes guidelines for the use of locative media strategies to design digital books that can enrich children's reading experiences and foster topological skills.
