Indigenous translations and approximations of the Christian message

Abstract

This paper discusses different modalities of translating the Evangelical Christian message, focusing on experiences reported by several indigenous protagonists (with references to a yanomami leader, a Guarani from São Paulo and some Wajãpi) that contrast with procedures recommended by missionaries.
