Variation in Verbal Agreement of Second Person Singular - A Study of The Florianopolitana Speech

This article discusses an investigation of the variation in verbal agreement in the second person singular in the speech of florianopolitanos residents in the communities of Costa da Lagoa, Ribeirão da Ilha, Ingleses and Central Region (Centro, Coqueiros and Trindade). Based on the theory of variationist sociolinguistics, we analyze social and linguistic factors that may determine the variation of the phenomenon in question. The data analyzed are based on a sample of 31 interviews of databases Monguilhot (2006) and Floripa (2009 and 2012), which are part of the VARSUL project.
