Is it possible to integrate theory and practice in classroom’s context? An answer through seminar method revised by action-research in an undergraduate business course

Abstract

The integration of theory and practice in the classroom is always a challenge. This article presents an experience carried out with a Business Administration Course. Its objective was to register relevant contributions for the development of an Educational Method, which integrates theory and practice in the classroom’s context, as a building Knowledge site. The proposed method was born from the Traditional Seminar, in addition to many other Educational dynamics. This paper is about an Action-Research lead with six groups in the years of 2002 to 2004. It raised reflections concerning the Teach-Learning process and resulted in the proposal of a new Teaching Method obtained from lived experience. Of the some results of this experience it can be detached: the biggest interaction between the students, greater security front to the activities and the learning of the activity of research during the search for theoretical and practical contents.

Vânia Maria Jorge Nassif, Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie

Graduação em Psicologia - FFCLRP-USP (1978), e em Licenciatura em Psicologia - FFCLRP-USP (1978), Mestre em Educação Brasileira Contemporânea pela Universidade de Ribeirão Preto (1993) e Doutora em Administração de Empresas pela Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2000). Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Professora Colaboradora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Administração de Empresas da UPM. Linha de Pesquisa na área de Gestão Humana e Social, com foco no Empreendedor integrando liderança, cultura, inovação e pessoas. Participa de Congressos Nacionais e Internacionais e é avaliadora de artigos de Congressos e Periódicos. É coordenadora do Núcleo de Empreendedorismo e Desenvolvimento Empresarial da UPM. Avaliadora de Cursos de Graduação e Avaliadora Institucional capacitada pelo BASis - Banco de Avaliadores do Sinaes.

Alexandre Nabil Ghobril, UPM - São Paulo - SP

Possui graduação em Engenharia Naval pela Universidade de São Paulo (1983), mestrado em Administração de Empresas pela Fundação Getulio Vargas - SP (1993), especialização pela University of Michigan - Ann Arbor - USA (1990) e doutorado pela .Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie(2007). É professor do Centro de Ciencias Sociais Aplicadas da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, atuando como pesquisador e consultor nos seguintes temas: empreendedorismo, estratégia empresarial, ensino e pesquisa em administração, incubadoras de empresas. Tem experiência em coordenação de cursos de graduação, núcleo de pesquisa e projetos ligados à área educacional.

Diogenes de Souza Bido, UPM - São Paulo - SP

Possui graduação em Engenharia Química pela Escola Superior de Química Oswaldo Cruz das Faculdades Oswaldo Cruz (1991), mestrado (1999) e doutorado (2004) em Administração de Empresas pela Faculdade de Economia, Administração e Contabilidade da Universidade de SP . Tem experiência na área de Administração, em particular: gestão da qualidade, gestão da cadeia de suprimentos, ensino superior, Aprendizagem organizacional, metodologia de pesquisa e modelagem em equações estruturais (SEM). Atualmente é professor PPI na Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie e professor horista na FAC-FITO. É pesquisador do Núcleo de pesquisa e formação em Administração (NUPES) com os seguintes temas de pesquisa: Aspectos metodológicos da pesquisa em administração, Competências individuais e gerenciais, Aprendizagem individual e nas organizações e Medidas em Aprendizagem Organizacional.
