Abstract

Experience research has been used in the field of Administration - probably more than in other areas of knowledge - for professional and academic purposes. It is one of the most recommended procedures for carrying out exploratory studies,
considering that its utility is recognized to provide a new view of the problem analyzed, to suggest research hypotheses and to improve the procedures to be adopted in future research. It turns out, however, that management research manuals, despite recommending their use in exploratory studies, do not emphasize their epistemological, theoretical and methodological bases. Thus, this essay was preapare, that aims to present the research of experiences on the modality of basic qualitative research and to clarify the procedures adopted in its planning and execution.
