Abstract

Third-sector organizations appear as a State and civil society solution to the difficulty of embracing that part os society that seems so distant and willing for help. However, we observe in their performance, as well as in the academic researches about them, contradictions that don´t seem to be noticed. This paper is an effort on the elucidation of these controversies and is based on important concepts extracted from the writings of Arendt, Foucault, Agamben and other authors that debruce themselves on human condition and contemporary society. Concomitantly, we confront these author’s positions with the theoric production about third-sector, trying to clarify the performance of these organizations and to seek them with a critical point of view.
