Editorial policy for special issues
EDITORIAL POLICY FOR THEMATIC SPECIAL ISSUES
The Thematic Special Issues of RCA (Revista de Ciências da Administração) can be considered a means to highlight emerging topics, significant advances, and trends in the field of Management. These issues offer a unique opportunity to deepen the understanding of specific areas, foster debates, and promote advances in research and administrative practice.
The RCA Editorial Team is always open to suggestions for organizing and launching Thematic Special Issues, provided that these suggestions include the following information:
- name of the proposing institution;
- name, email, and phone number of the Guest Editors;
- proposed title for the issue;
- selection of available section (Scientific Articles);
- submission period for papers;
- introduction of the topic (aligned with RCA's scope), with a maximum of 150 words;
- definition and description of up to six subtopics;
- list of reviewers including name, email, area of expertise, and ORCID iD;
- two associate editors.
Thematic Special Issue topic suggestions will be evaluated based on their relevance, impact, and current interest in the academic and professional Management community. The Guest Editors must be recognized experts in the proposed area to act as Associate Editors, ensuring a comprehensive and high-quality approach for each issue.
Articles submitted to Thematic Special Issues must comply with the guidelines for authors and follow RCA’s editorial workflow. Thus, the Associate Editors will be responsible for coordinating this process, ensuring that the selected articles meet the highest academic quality standards and significantly contribute to advancing knowledge in the field.
After the decision to publish the Thematic Special Issue, the Associate Editors must provide an editorial of no more than 3,000 words, to be published in the respective issue.
It is important to emphasize that the RCA Editorial Team is always committed to offering a high-quality option for disseminating innovative and relevant research, relying on significant contributions from authors and researchers around the world.
EDITORIAL POLICY FOR EVENT SPECIAL ISSUES
The Event Special Issues of RCA are published with the aim of supporting the development of relevant events in the Management field, which include in their schedule the evaluation and presentation of papers aligned with RCA’s scope. These issues offer a unique opportunity to foster debates and promote advances in research and administrative practice.
The RCA Editorial Team is always open to partnership suggestions from event organizing entities related to Management for the publication of Event Special Issues, provided that these suggestions include the following information:
- name of the proposing organization;
- name of the event;
- name, email, and phone number of the event organizers;
- selection of available sections (Scientific Articles, Technological Articles, or Case Studies);
- event schedule, including the timeline for the scientific part;
- list of reviewers including name, email, area of expertise, and ORCID iD;
- two associate editors.
Partnership suggestions with event organizing entities for the publication of Event Special Issues will be accepted based on their relevance, impact, and current interest in the academic and professional Management community, and must meet the following criteria:
- total number of selected articles: between 10 and 15;
- total number of selected teaching cases: between 5 and 10;
- the maximum number of authors per paper and papers per author must be defined by the event;
- papers authored by RCA Editorial Team members or UFSC staff will not be accepted;
- selected papers must be the best from the event, according to the event's rules and evaluations;
- submissions must be made by the authors through the RCA system, including the information that the paper is part of the respective Event Special Issue.
Articles submitted to Event Special Issues must comply with the guidelines for authors and follow RCA’s editorial workflow, ensuring that the submitted articles meet the highest academic quality standards and contribute significantly to advancing knowledge in the field.
After the decision to publish the Event Special Issue, the Organizers must provide an editorial of no more than 3,000 words, to be published in the respective issue. They must also use RCA’s logo and a QR Code linking to the journal in promotional activities.
