Configurations and challenges of teaching of Sociology in Hinterland of Alagoas

Abstract

This paper examines the settings and the challenges of teaching of sociology in Hinterland of Alagoas. To this end, was utilized both documentary and literature review on the theme, as also the description and analysis of data collected with 10 teachers who teach Sociology in public schools located in the middle region of Hinterland of Alagoas. The fieldwork took place between May and June 2015, by conducting semi-structured interviews and aplication of questionnaires. Throughout the study, it is shown how and under what conditions the Sociology is taught in Hinterland of Alagoas. Finally, it is argued that the precarious labour conditions of teachers and the lack of initial and continuing education in the area of acting are challenges adverse to teaching of Sociology.

Licenciado em Pedagogia pela Universidade Estadual de Alagoas (UNEAL, 2011), Mestre em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL, 2016) e graduando em Ciências Sociais, também pela UFAL. É professor de Ensino Fundamental 1 na rede pública municipal de São José da Tapera, Sertão Alagoano.
