The music spoken in the songs: what do you hear?

Abstract

In this article I discuss two songs in which the composers make present vocally the musicality of a certain way of speaking, although located outside the linguistic community to which it refers. This is how I hear the song of the duo Kleiton and Kledir singing the compositions Deu pra ti and Nem pensar. I compare the melodic pattern of each of them, trying to find a point where the combination of lyrics, melody and rhythm expresses the spoken word that insinuates itself through the voice. My objective is to demonstrate analytically, through the use of concepts proposed in enunciation theory and discourse analysis, that prosodic features echo the musicality of the Portuguese spoken in Porto Alegre.
