Abstract

The fact that Latin has left several marks in plenty of vernacular languages is a strong reason for the revitalization of its studies in the last decades. Indeed, the analysis of existent courseware, as well as the production of efficient new materials, is necessary. In this article, it is made an analysis of the macrostructure of three Latin dictionaries, focusing on some features of Latin that should be covered, with the goal of verifying its use accuracy in the teaching-learning process of Latin, by undergraduate students at the onset of language acquisition. Our analysis points to important aspects to be considered in the elaboration of a new Latin dictionary, consistent with the users’ needs.
