The best-sellers have been a recurring subject in communication studies, whose emphasis is bipartite, relating ethical, aesthetic, and language defects with external factors. Apart from that, this article aims to analyze the notion of author in a web headline about one of Paulo Leminski’s books. Our goal is to analyze the notion of the author-function through the author's name in the chosen sample. We selected a headline related to the impressive sales of Leminski’s Toda Poesia. Due to the failure of the applicability of the author-function proposed by Foucault (2009) in the statement selected by us, we turn to Maingueneau’s studies (2010), related to the notion of the author, and its three-dimensionality.
