The ideological sign "floor" in electoral campaign: a proposal for discussion-dialogical analysis

Abstract

Aiming to understand aspects of the production, circulation and reception of the discourse, this study examines the effects of meaning generated by the use of the ideological sign “floor” by a candidate to the Rio Grande do Sul State government in the 2014 elections. Thus, this text is supported on Bakhtinian assumptions, and establishes an interface with the work of Patrick Charaudeau, specifically regarding the political discourse. As a result, an example to demonstrate how a discursive approach can be carried out from the analysis of concrete linguistic extracts belonging to actual media spheres is presented. This proposal aims to be an invitation to get the reader to glimpse the possibility of research with the Portuguese language based on the concept of language in use, where a reflection that includes both linguistic and social aspects to understand the meanings conveyed is promoted.
