ACADEMIC PRODUCTION ON FRUGAL INNOVATION: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS IN INTERNATIONAL JOURNALS IN THE LAST DECADE

Abstract

Objective: This study deals with the scientific production of Frugal Innovation (IF), in the Web of Science and Scopus databases (CAPES, 2021). The area was chosen because of the concern regarding the accelerated growth of the planet's population and the challenges found in all production chains, in this sense, offering high quality technology and low cost started to be studied by several economies, where frugal innovation it can be the central key in the future of innovation management, with the capacity to provide a new path for solving problems, leading to socioeconomic results.


Methodology: The methodology adopted was a bibliometric study, the search was carried out by topic, resulting in 702 works found in a period of 10 years (2010-2020). The total number of publications was identified with evidence in the data per year, thematic areas, types of documents, year of publications, authors, funding agencies and institutions, nationality, languages, the hb index and the m index were analyzed, finally the vosviewer software was used for creating textual maps and co-citation clusters.


Results: Among the results obtained, Brazil appears, Brazil is in the ninth position in number of publications. Publications are carried out in different areas, thus, the area of Management, Business and Accounting is common and with greater quantity. The study showed that it is noticeable the growing increase in the topic around the world.
