Social Assistance and Social Policies in Brazil – historical configuration, contradictions and perspectives

This work objectifies the reconstruction of the economic-social processes which the public social policies were produced in Brazil. It intends to look for and to solidify knowledge adapted concerning the meanings peculiar of each social policies configuration of the strategies affect to the social welfare, using a critical perception historiography about the national social and economic formation. At the same time search to accomplish also, taking advantage of a common conceptual bars, a historical-cultural interpretation regarding the country, deciphering its contradictions and reconstructing its social and political determinations.
