Journal Code of Ethics
ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICES FOR PUBLICATION
The Pesquisar awaits the authors, evaluators and editors are expected to follow the best practice guidelines on ethical behaviour contained therein. These guidelines aim to encourage the identification of plagiarism, bad practices, fraud, possible violations of ethics, intellectual property and the initiation of lawsuits.
Editors
Pesquisar and its editors follow the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), explicit in the documents:
<https://publicationethics.org/files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_Mar11.pdf>
<https://publicationethics.org/core-practices>
Those interested should visit the COPE website at <https://publicationethics.org/>, which contains information for authors and editors on research ethics.
Evaluators
The evaluation is based on the merit of the work and impersonality.
Submissions and review details are kept confidential. Editors and editorial board members will not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their research purposes unless there is explicit, written consent from the authors.
The evaluator must make sure and inform the editors of any potential conflict of interest before accepting the evaluation or during the process.
If the evaluator finds any irregularity regarding the evaluated article, he/she should inform the editor. Examples of possible irregularities are: identification of plagiarism; fabrication and/or falsification of results; redundant publication.
Authors
The indication of authorship in a scientific article, following the COPE Guide for authors, is due only to those who:
(a) made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, data acquisition, or analysis and/or interpretation of the study;
(b) have drafted the manuscript or critically reviewed it for important intellectual content;
(c) have seen and approved the final version of the article and agreed to its submission for publication.
All persons who have made contributions to the work reported in the manuscript (such as technical help, writing and editing assistance, general support), but who do not meet the authorship criteria, should not be listed as authors, but should be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgements”.
