Moralidad y biología en Patricia Churchland: el aporte de la inescapabilidad biológica a la discusión ética

El trabajo discute la posición biologicista de Churchland en su libro de 2019 (Conscience: the Origins of Moral Intuition). Sostiene que esta posición tiene un aporte para realizar en el contexto del debate tradicional en ética. La primera sección reconstruye la posición de Churchland y algunas de las principales objeciones a las que se expone. La segunda sección interpreta a esta posición como una defensa de la inescapabilidad ética, al igual que otras posiciones de inspiración kantiana y semanticista. La tercera sección indaga las objeciones que cada una de estas posiciones tiene para hacerle a las restantes, y sugiere que es posible entenderlas como complementarias. En este sentido, el biologicismo puede realizar aportes valiosos a la discusión ética.
