This article analyzes the phenomenon of contemporary Brazilian visual poetry that emerges on digital social networks and later migrates to print media, observing in this movement the reconfiguration of the relations between authorship, reading, and creation. Based on the concept of counter-signature, the study investigates the active and performative role of the reader, who, by sharing, recreating, and resignifying visual poems, becomes a co-author of the works. Reading is understood as a creative and socially situated act, particularly in the context of digital social networks, representing an unprecedented movement in the Brazilian literary market. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative analysis of readers productions derived from profiles of contemporary Brazilian visual poets on Instagram, highlighting practices of aesthetic, formal, and discursive re-elaboration. These poets also publish their works in printed books while maintaining a strong presence in the digital environment. The results indicate that the reader’s counter-signature establishes new landmarks in the history of the author–reader relationship in literature, transforming both the meanings of poetic texts and the modes of circulation and legitimation of literature in the digital sphere. The study concludes that contemporary Brazilian visual poetry constitutes a field of shared creation, in which reading and writing intertwine in a continuous process of literary reinvention.
