Abstract

The current volume of Cadernos da Tradução focuses on the thematic of Lexicography and Metalexicography and evinces thereby the magnitude of this field of knowledge - which is complementary and pivotal for the salutary development of Translation Studies.

Author Biographies

Adja Durão, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

Durão has a graduate degree (1983) and a major (1984) in Portuguese and Spanish Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where she also received her master’s degree in Neo-Latin Spanish Language and Hispanic Literatures (1994). She received a doctor’s degree in Linguistics in 1998 from the Universidad de Valladolid, Spain (revalidated by Universidade Estadual de Londrina). She is a professor at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, acting at the Postgraduate programme in Linguistics and at the Postgraduate programme in translation studies of this same institution. Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Reinhold Werner, Universität Augsburg

Professor Verner has a doctor’s degree (1975) in Romanic Philology, Slavic Philology and Philosophy [Lehrstuhl für Angewandte Sprachwissenschaft (Romanistik)] at the Universität Salzburg (Austria).
