Abstract
ABSTRACT This article deals with artistic-cultural productions within the field of mental health in Brazil. The interventions, partnerships, innovations and contagions associated with these productions shape a singular experience, which has contributed to the specificity of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform (BPR) as a social movement. The focus is on practices inspired by Basaglia’s ideas, their branchings and translations, as they affect a range of social groups and collectives, a rich, complex, dynamic and lively social-cultural movement . The BPR afforded the development of specific networks and produced modes of working which drew on artistic productions as a mode of asserting new forms of subjectivity based on the promotion of difference as a right. This article offers a specification of the connections between musical esthetics, the right to difference and social inclusion.
