Marisa Lajolo, UNICAMP e Universidade de Mackenzie

Marisa Lajolo is a Professor of Literary Theory and Brazilian Literature at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and at the Mackenzie University in São Paulo. She is the author of an extensive bibliography on reading in Brazil (its history, teaching, implication for gender and for literary history) and on children´s literature. She has received numerous prizes, including the prestigious Jabuti. Her contribution to the present issue addresses aspects of the writing and activities of the Brazilian writer Monteiro Lobato ( 1882-1948) , another of her areas of specialization.
