Resumo

O ensaio centra-se no envolvimento do autor irlandês Dermot Healy com memórias de pessoas idosas em dois projetos colaborativos: a criação de um filme baseado no romance documental que eu poderia ler o céu por Timothy O'Grady e Steve Pyke (1997) e o desenvolvimento de um drama documental com os clientes de uma creche em Co. Monaghan, intitulada Homens à direita, mulheres à esquerda (2001). Ele examina os métodos utilizados para registrar o material e seu uso criativo subsequente, particularmente em comparação com a técnica do teatro literal britânico e no contexto das imperfeições da memória individual que são habilmente exploradas no livro de memórias de Healy The Bend for Home (1996) . Ondrej Pilny, Charles University, Prague

Ondřej Pilný é professor de literatura inglesa e americana e diretor do Centro de Estudos Irlandeses da Charles University, em Praga. Ele é o autor de dois livros, The Grotesque in Contemporary Anglophone Drama (2016) e Iron and Identity in Modern Irish Drama (2006), e editor de coleções de ensaios e revistas em assuntos que vão desde o drama anglophone e a literatura irlandesa até a memória cultural. e teoria estruturalista. Suas traduções incluem peças de J. M. Synge, Brian Friel, Martin McDonagh e Enda Walsh, e The Third Policeman de Flann O'Brien. Ele é o atual Presidente da Associação Internacional para o Estudo das Literaturas Irlandesas e Vice-Presidente da Federação Européia de Associações e Centros de Estudos Irlandeses.
