Internal corporate portal of a university hospital: the stimulus for organizational learning

In view of the use of portals as important vehicle for communication and information, this article reports the internal corporate portal development of a university hospital, by analogy with the information analysis, synthesis and representation processes, as well as benefits achieved and the prospects for the promotion of information management and organizational learning. The article is divided into three topics. The first part discusses the processes of information management and organizational learning, emphasizing the information technology influence and their contributions. The second describes the analysis process - with the information collection; synthesis - definition of objectives and planning; and information representation - resulting in the development of portal. Lastly, are presented the benefits and prospects of development of the portal, as well as the strength of organizational culture and of the individual in this context.Downloads
