The sociocognitive context of indexer in the process of information thematic representation

The focus of this study is the interdisciplinary between the cognitive aspects and Information Science, with emphasis on Cognitive Psychology, and scientific field in the collaborative design of sociocognitive context of the indexer, seen as a guiding element in the thematic representation suitable for recovery by subject in online catalogs of specialized scientific areas. The results show that the sociocognitive context of the indexer is an element of great importance for the proper information representation to search for the subject in online catalogs. It is concluded that the holistic and collective visions of the indexer are privileged, contributors to the definition of a thematic treatment of information and modeling of information retrieval systems. Based on this concept, the Information Science area turns to a theoretical dimension focused on interpretive approaches, focusing on semantics and social context of information, the indexer and user.Downloads
