Abstract

This article exposes the results of a PhD thesis that it intends to investigate the social impact of digital libraries, comparatively in Brazil, Mozambique and Paraguay. The study outlines the integrated systems of the Libraries of the Universities of São Paulo, Eduardo Mondlane and National de Asuncion, trough checking qualitative and quantitative indicators of the impact from digital libraries, uses as methodology the survey and interview applied to its users, students, teachers, librarians, support staff and directors. The results aim to foster the creation of other similar libraries, reduce the digital gap and contribute significantly to the sustainable development of each country.
