Expectations of users on the development of the communication device of the university library

Descriptive research based on the identification of users' informational needs, as well as their expectations regarding the creation of the social web communication device, made available by a brazilian public university library. The results presented correspond to the planning stage that subsidizes a research on the "Implementation of the management model of the use of social web communication devices: search for the effectiveness of information mediation activities in university libraries". This step of the research adopted as an instrument the questionnaire submitted online for the internal community of the Polytechnic School. With the conclusion of this stage, it was observed that the community studied has familiarity with social web devices such as facebook, youtube and instagram, and recommend them as devices to be incorporated by the Library of the Polytechnic School. As for the contents, they demanded information about the opening hours, internal events, databases for research, that is, proximity to the actions, products and services of the physical library, which are presented as indicators for the development of actions of Mediation of the information and that will subsidize the construction of a policy of management of the communication devices of the social web.Downloads
