Schema.org, Digital catalog, OPACAbstract
Objective: The objective was to present the Schema.org vocabulary as an alternative for adapting digital catalogs to the current context.
Methods: The research is characterized as a bibliographic review, carried out from a qualitative approach, aiming to explore the relationship between the themes: digital catalogs and Schema.org.
Results: The Schema.org presents as main contributions, the structuring of data for better interpretation of search engines, resulting in accurate results and semantic enrichment, integrated with rich snippets and knowledge graph technologies.
Conclusions: It is considered that the adherence of Schema.org associated with the representation instruments used in the context of libraries, can favor the exposure of data on the Web, expanding the reach of the content of the catalogs. Thus, in addition to benefiting from Web technologies, libraries could contribute to its development, acting as providers of quality metadata, retrieved as enriched results together with other sources of information.
